"I want my art to be a place where the viewer can enter and be within my artistic creation of the West. This unique and varied landscape of The American West; the land, the light, the man-made routes, the people, the animals and expansive skies have influenced my art greatly. I hope my observations and affinity for ranch life values are apparent in my work. Sharing this with viewers is my goal."

Jenny Gummersall’s work depicts familiar icons presented in a contemporary Americana-style that offers her unique vision of the West. From her earliest days in the darkroom, she has “studied” life with a keen eye for the normal being transformed into the unusual. Her images of horses, landscapes and natural objects may be playful, sublime or endearing, and are always inspired by an interest in capturing the illuminated forms found in her environment.
