Starched White by Timothy Horn
In the late 80’s my girlfriend and I ended up with some airline vouchers and for no particular reason other than that neither of us had ever been there, decided to spend 10 days driving around the state of Utah. At one point we were driving on a two lane freeway, and as we passed a red 1963 Galaxie 500, I stuck my camera out the window and took three photos. Late last year I happened upon a small box in a drawer in my studio that contained about fifteen, 35mm slides from the late 80’s. These paintings are based on two of those photos.
